Superb Saturday for Surrey
Saturday 28th February saw both the Men's First & A Teams in action against Walton Heath and Mitcham respectively.
The annual fixtures are always among the first in the diary as the the teams look to prepare themselves for the upcoming league campaigns.
The match at Walton Heath consisted of 10 players playing 36 holes. The morning round foursomes are played over the New Course followed by a beautiful lunch before the players head back out to play singles over the Old Course. All in all, there were 13 Surrey Squad players on show in what were two very youthful sides.
Surrey came out firing in the foursomes and opened up a 4.5 - 0.5 lead. They would then push on to win the singles 7.5 - 2.5 and record a 12 - 3 win. Clearly the indoor winter training is paying off!

Meanwhile, 10 miles north at Mitcham GC it was a similar story albeit with a slightly more experienced Surrey A Team in action.
Played in a four ball better ball format the teams of 10 battled over 18 holes with Surrey coming out at 4.5 - 0.5 victors.
