The annual U12/U13/U14 @surreygolf vs @hampshiregolf junior match took place at @hartleywintneygc on 19th August.
The annual U12/U13/U14 @surreygolf vs @hampshiregolf junior match took place at @hartleywintneygc on 19th August. As usual the format was 4BBB and comprised four U14 players, four U13 players and four U12 players from each County.
Match 1 saw Jack Robinson & Yumin Do all square after 6 holes, 2 up after 9, 1 up after 12 holes and take the 2&1win on the 17th hole.
Match 2 featured Brian Kim & Aurelius Lynarko and saw them get to 3 up after 4 holes and win 4&3 on the 15th hole.
Harry Wang & Myles Young 13 were paired in Match 3 and fought a very close match, only to lose on the final hole.
In Match 4 Jack Austin & Ben Hargrave were 2 down after 6 holes, 5 down after 9 holes and despite a valiant effort suffered a 5&4 loss.
Carlos Selig & Ethan Kwan were 2 down after 6 holes, fought back to 1 down after 9 holes and went on to secure a 3&1 win over Hampshire on the 17th hole.
In the final match Leo Boniface & Christian Meyer battled really hard against a strong Hampshire pairing, taking the match to the 18th green and securing a half with a par putt by Leo.
Well played to both teams, the result was a win for Surrey (3.5- 2.5). It was great to witness really good golf being played by both teams and the Chicken Burger and chips after the match was very much appreciated by all the players.
