Jarrett Young wins the individual County Card Meeting at Hankley Common

71 players teed it up at Hankley Common on Tuesday 3rd October for the seventh County Card Meeting of the season. As with all but two of our county card meetings, the format was an individual Stableford off the yellow tees, with prizes for the top six Stableford scores, as well as two nearest the pin prizes for the 2nd & 16th holes.

As the first players teed off, the weather was warm and sunny, and thankfully it stayed this way throughout the day, making for lovely golfing conditions. As you might expect with weather like this, the scoring proved to be very good.

Once the last scorecard had been checked and the players were tucking into their tasty lunch, the final scores read as follows:

Results:

  • 1st Place - Jarrett Young (Coombe Wood) - 40 points
  • 2nd Place - Hal Saleh (Croham Hurst) - 39 points
  • 3rd Place - Alastair Smith (Guildford) - 39 points
  • 4th Place - Martin Pang (Silvermere) - 38 points
  • 5th Place - Michael Everton (Betchworth Park) - 37 points
  • 6th Place - Simon Armstrong (Mitcham) - 37 points
  • Nearest the pin 2nd hole - Ben Palmer (Reigate Hill)
  • Nearest the pin 16th hole - Simon Armstrong (Mitcham)

Congratulations to all the prize winners, and many thanks to all the players for supporting our county card events.

Special thanks to Brian Cox for all his help on the day, doing the registration and checking all the scorecards.

A huge thank you to Hankley Common Golf Club for hosting the event, all the staff were very helpful, the course was in incredible condition, especially given the time of year, and as always, the food was fantastic!
