This year, the Surrey Amateur Masters and Surrey Junior Masters were held on the same date and at the same venue for the first time. Both events were played at the lovely Hankley Common Golf Club on Sunday 8th October.
In the Junior Masters, the field was made up of the top five players in both the scratch and handicap junior Order of Merits, as well as the winners of this year's Surrey Junior Championships.
The golf course was in absolutely fantastic condition and the weather was brilliant, especially considering the time of year!
Despite Hankley Common being a difficult course and very penal if you stray off line into the heather, the scoring from the juniors was brilliant. Brahma Patel of Addington Palace retained the Junior Masters title that he won last year with an excellent score of 70 (-1).
The results of the Junior Masters and Junior Order of Merits were as follows:
Surrey Junior Masters:
1st: Brahma Patel - 70 (-1)
2nd: Joshua Davies - 72 (+1)
3rd: Toby Knevett - 74 (+3)
Scratch Junior Order of Merit:
1st: Leo Vorobyev - 22 points
2nd: Brahma Patel - 20 points
3rd: Luke Rice - 18 points
Handicap Junior Order of Merit:
1st: Harry Weatherhead - 21 points
2nd: Aurelius Lynarko - 20 points
3rd: Louis Rees - 15 points
A massive thank you to Hankley Common for hosting this event, it was a real privilege to get to play this event at such a prestigious golf club.
