Surrey Seniors win 6-4 against Kent in their first SEG League Match

The first league match of the 2023 Surrey Seniors season was played on Tuesday 23rd May against Kent at The Richmond. The Kent team had enjoyed a very successful 2022 season and had previously beaten the Surrey team over the last five years. This match had a different outcome with the Surrey team winning by 6 to 4.

A strong start from the five lead Surrey players gave us four wins including Simon Skeldon of St Georges Hill winning 3&2 against Matt Jarvis. When Peter Jackson of Woking won 6&5 against Darren Ottaway the Surrey team were in a strong position with five points. Tom Hawkings then won on the 18th to ensure a Surrey victory.

The 10-man team was Ian Attoe, Fredrik Lindgren, Simon Skeldon, Nigel Pimm, Simon Crockett, David Boxall, James Weigall, Peter Jackson, Tom Hawkings and Julian Smith.
