It was an early two tee start for the 62 players at the Burhill County Card Meeting, playing for the Vincent Trophy. The sun was shining and the birds chirping which really set the scene for an elegant day of golf, and it truly was!
Starting players off on the 1st tee was Roger Vincent (Past Surrey President) and starting players on the 9th tee was Terry Casey (Surrey President).
Players were round in approximately 4 hours which isn’t bad going! Although, I’m sure they wouldn’t have minded the extra time in the sun!
Once finished, players headed to the bar to hand in their scorecards before enjoying a two course lunch.

Congratulations to Terry, who in fact won this event back in 2020!
It’s not often we get to make a special mention, but this is truly deserving of one. Nigel Brown not only won the nearest the pin on the 16th hole but did so with a hole-in-one! Congratulations Nigel from everyone at Surrey Golf!
A very touching moment came after Nigel arrived back in the Clubhouse and requested that instead of buying a round of drinks, could he donate the money to the Surrey support fund. The support fund has been put in place to help single parents or families struggling to support their children’s golf. Everyone at Surrey Golf is extremely grateful for this kind act of generosity.
Thanks to all of our volunteers on the day. Without our wonderful volunteers, these events simply can’t run. And finally, thanks to Burhill Golf Club and their staff for hosting such a wonderful day.
