Sam Wood lifts the Surrey Masters Trophy
Each year the leading Men’s Order of Merit players and the various County Championship winners are invited to this final event of the year, the Surrey Masters, the event also counts as the final points scoring opportunity for the players and determines the final standings for the Order of Merit.
County Chairman Alan Page started the players for their 18 holes on the Old Course at the fantastic Walton Heath Golf Club. Alastair Wells and member of Walton Heath Golf Club was kind enough to referee for the day and stayed out on the course with all the players. Apart from a small amount of rain early on the weather was very kind and the course was in great condition.
There was excellent golf played which was reflected in the scores submitted.
For the Order of Merit, the final standings were:
Champion Aadam Syed (Foxhills Golf Club) 76 points
Runner Up Ben Palmer (Reigate Hill Golf Club) 65 points
3rd Place David Corben (Hindhead Golf Club) 56 points

Sam shot a very impressive 68 with three birdies and an eagle on the back nine!
Afterwards the players enjoyed some sandwiches, chips, and cake before the presentation of the trophies and medals by Caroline Hardy-Evans, Assistant County Secretary.
Our thanks as always to Walton Heath GC who looked after everyone so well and made everybody feel welcome and not forgetting Alan Page and Alastair Wells for giving up time on their Saturday.
