John Ling Knockout West Division 2026

Friday 9th January
, Tee - Yellow
Matchplay Knockout
H'cap Allowance:

The Competition shall be open to players who are affiliated members of a Surrey Golf Club. Each team shall consist of ten players aged 55 years or older on the day of the match.

Five pairs from each club shall play 18 holes in a fourball better ball match play format. The WHS Playing Handicap allowance is 90%. Each away player will receive one additional shot added to their course handicap before the 90% is applied. PLEASE NOTE: This is a change from last year and only applies to the fourball better ball knockouts. However, if one of the players in the away team is also a playing member of the home club, that player does not receive the additional shot. The rest of his team are unaffected and still receive their additional shot.

Players will play off their handicap index subject to a limit of 24.0. A competitor over the 24.0 handicap index may play in the competition but must play off a handicap index of 24.0.

Players may be changed from one round to the next.

All matches should be played over a course set up as if for a qualifying competition, off the Club’s YELLOW tees or equivalent.

All losing first round teams will automatically be entered into the Salver competition combining both the East and West Divisions.

The finalists of the West Division will play at a neutral venue from the one of the two clubs in the East Division Final. This will be arranged by Surrey Golf on a date agreed by both teams. The Grand Final between the East and West winners will take place on a neutral venue on Monday 14th September.
