The Handicap Knockout will be played over 18 holes in a match play format.

A player must be under the age of 18 on the 31st December of the previous year.

The format of the competition is singles match play over 18 holes. The WHS mandatory handicap allowance is 100%. The match must be played to a conclusion, and in the event of a halved match after eighteen holes, play must continue until one player wins a hole.

The handicap index limit for this competition is 24.0. If a player's course handicap is above 24, which could happen depending on the golf course that the match is being played at, then this is allowed within the rules as long as the player's handicap index is 24.0 or below.

The away player in each match will receive 1 additional shot added to their playing handicap after all calculations have been made. If the away player is also a member of the home Club, the extra shot will not apply.

Caddies are not permitted in any boys Junior Championship or event.

To be considered valid, the appropriate entry form and the requisite entry fee must be with the Surrey Golf office at the closing date of each competition. For junior competitions, this includes submission of the Player Profile & Parental Consent Form. Entries by telephone or email are not accepted.

All knockouts will be limited to a maximum of 64 teams/players. This shall be managed to a first come basis.
