Covid-19 County Statement - 10.04.2020

Covid-19 Surrey County Update 10-04-20

Due to the continued situation regards Covid-19 and Government advice, regretfully Surrey County Golf Ltd have to announce, that all County activity including knockouts, County Card meetings, league matches, the Rookie Tour, County Championships, presentations, etc will be suspended until the end of May.

We will continue to monitor and review the situation on a month by month basis and take guidance from the Government and England Golf. After each review we will continue to provide updates on the impact to the season as more information is released by the authorities.

When safe to do so we will endeavour where possible to re-schedule all the above competitions. But realistically this might not be possible in all cases or some events may have to be in a reduced format.

We emphasise that the situation is currently a suspension and not cancellation of any event, but this is subject to a continuous review.

As we all know, Golf is a great form of exercise but ask you to adhere to official guidelines.

Our priority is and will always be the health and well-being of our players, coaches, referees, volunteers, employees and staff working at golf clubs and the wider golfing community.

There is no doubt this is going to hit the golf industry extremely hard and as a County we will do our upmost to support members and Clubs where and when we can. We will of course keep you updated if anything changes, but at this time, as we are sure you can appreciate the situation is very unpredictable.

We thank you for your patience and understanding on this matter and hope that normal service resumes sooner rather than later.

Cheers and stay safe.

Steve
