Colts Suffer Close Defeat To Kent

Sunday 10th July saw the Colts play their third match of the season vs Kent at Sutton Green GC.

The Colts looked to capitalize after nicking a victory away to Essex in their previous match.

The format for the day was foursomes in the morning followed by singles in the afternoon.

The foursomes were incredibly close with Surrey losing the first match but then halving the next three matches (all three matches were 1 up to Surrey going down the last). A disappointing end to the morning, but also confidence was high going into the singles.

The players enjoyed a lovely Ham, Egg & Chips, before heading back to the first tee to fight back the small deficit from the morning foursomes.

The afternoon singles also proved to be incredibly close, with Kent winning the singles 5-3. Two of our loses & two of our victories came down the 18th which shows how close the day was.

Final score: Surrey 4.5 – Kent 7.5

Our thanks to Sutton Green Golf Club and a special mention to Mark Scott & Chris Matthews for volunteering their services on the day, handing out water to players all day.
