Individual Membership Scheme

All Surrey Golf Clubs must be affiliated to the English Golf Union and the Surrey County Golf Union for their male playing Members to have approved Handicaps. The EGU is the national organisation in control of amateur golf in England and the SCGU is the Area Authority appointed by the EGU to act on its behalf within Surrey for the purposes of the Standard Scratch Score and Handicapping Scheme.

Apart from being the Area Authority for Handicapping purposes, the SCGU also deals with Rules queries and matters of Amateur status and arranges a large calendar of County events.

Members of affiliated Clubs can further support the SCGU as Individual Members simply by joining it for a joining fee of £10 and the annual subscription of £10 by cheque for the current year,  and then £10 per annum by Direct Debit.  Such Individual Membership offers Club Members additional direct benefits that are simply there for the taking.
