ENGLISH MEN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP 2019
No less than six Surrey players have made it through to the Knock Out stages of the Championship, a fantastic achievement and great reflection on Surrey Golfs continued support and development of golfers, with all six players having come through the Surrey RookieTour Junior programme of events.
The qualifying rounds were played at Hankley Common and Northants, with each player playing 18 holes at each over Tuesday and Wednesday, with the best 64 and ties making it through to the Knock Out stages that will be played at Hankley Common over the next four days.
Harvey Byers was Surrey’s leading player finishing 3rd in qualifying with a superb 136 (-5) total shooting 68 at each course,
Enrique Dimayuga was Surrey next best with a 140 (-1) shooting a 76 at Hankley but then a fantastic 64 at Northants on the second day,
scoring 5 birdies in the last 7 holes! Other Surrey players to qualify were Angus Flanagan +1, Lewis Hinton +2, Harry Crockett +2,
Charlie Crockett +3.
Special mention and congratulations to Enrique Dimayuga on a new course record at Northants GC shooting a gross 64.
