County Card Meeting at Hindhead Golf
For the Jack Buchanan Trophy
Thursday 23rd May 2019
On a glorious with the sun shining players from across the County made their way to the fantastic and challenging Hindhead Golf for the 2nd County Card Meeting of the year.
After coffee and bacon roll the players made their way to tee it up on both the 1st and the 10th tees.
The course was in the usual great condition, with some very fast greens and many of the players commenting on just how much they enjoyed playing in this event, even those who didn’t have their best day’s golf today, on what is not an easy course.
After completing their 18 holes the players enjoyed a refreshing drink on a patio bathed in sun light.
This was followed by a most enjoyable meal and County President Jack Buchanan presenting the Trophy and prizes. The winner was Jamie Payne (Addington Palace) with an excellent 39pts, followed by Andrew Finbow (Cuddington) with 36pts and Glen Gummitt (Kingswood) taking 3rd with 34pts, just edging out Mark Connelly (Surrey Downs) on count-back.
The nearest the pins were won by Gerry Hall on the 6th and Glen Andrews on the 15th.
Our thanks to Hindhead Golf Club for hosting us and making everyone feel so welcome as they always do.
