Harvey Byers (Walton Heath) wins the Darwin Salver at Rye


First team player Harvey Byers is showing great early season form winning the prestigious Darwin Salver at Rye GC by 6 shots.

 

The large silver salver presented to Bernard Darwin by the Times Newspaper is the trophy for this prestigious event, open to gentlemen under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year of competition, with a category one handicap . Only 50 players are selected from those with the lowest handicaps.

 

The event results are accepted by the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

 

Harvey followed this win up with a 2nd place in the equally prestigious Berkhampstead Trophy with rounds of 73,66,74 & 72. This event also qualifies for WAGR points.

 

Harvey has been involved with Surrey since his early teens.
