County Card Scheme
Since 1947 the Surrey Golf has organised a County Card Scheme to
give Club members an opportunity to play other Surrey Clubs at a reduced green
fee, and in the last six years the number of available Clubs has risen to over
one thousand, all around England.
Up to 2012, around 4,000 golfers purchased a card each year
for a price of £10.
With the recent economic changes felt by our Clubs, Surrey
have decided to make these cards available to all affiliated Club members,
without any extra charge and financed by the individual’s county affiliation
fee.
Instead of providing a booklet, we are producing personalised plastic cards for all Surrey Club members.
Details of over 1,000 Clubs in England that accept County Cards may be found under the link on the left of this page ‘Participating Clubs’ – click on the County you wish to view.
It is hoped that this initiative will assist Clubs to
improve their green fee income, and also to give added value to Club
membership.
Regular competitive golf competitions, formally known as IMS
meetings, will still be held during the year at a variety of venues, and extra
events will be added to the calendar.
